Learning for Life
Our school vision is ‘Learning for Life’ – together with our parents and the learners themselves - we aim to teach skills for the whole of life.
We aim to work in partnership with families and the wider community to enable our learners to achieve their full potential, to learn important life skills and to develop independence wherever possible.
Our curriculum is based around student's interests, is broad and balanced and provides opportunities for all students to develop their communication, develop confidence and a sense of self. The curriculum provides community based experiences which enable students to develop a sense of belonging and to develop skills to provide a positive contribution to their local community.
As students arrive at Avalon School in Year 7, we think about the adult each student will become, we focus on their interests, their aspirations and their individual needs and through a creative and flexible curriculum, we provide every opportunity for our students to succeed.
